Biography
Born in North Vancouver, Canada, Danielle's remarkable journey in the world of dance is a testament to her dedication and passion. She is a world-class dancer, choreographer, and instructor. Danielle received her training from prestigious institutions, including the John Cranko School Stuttgart, the National Ballet School of Canada, and the Goh Ballet Academy. Her studies included a deep dive into the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus and examinations, paving the way for a remarkable career.
Upon her graduation from the Goh Ballet Academy, Danielle's talent shone brightly as she received the coveted Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal Award. She went on to perform with the Goh Ballet Youth Company on both local and international stages. Notably, she embarked on two tours in China, gracing more than five cities on each occasion. Her performances featured lead roles in classical repertoire and original choreographies.
At the age of 17, Danielle's talent took her to the Youth America Grand Prix New York City finals, where she emerged victorious, securing a full scholarship to the John Cranko Academy in Stuttgart, Germany. During her second year at the academy, she received an offer from the Hungarian National Ballet and accepted immediately. Her roles within the company ranged from soloist to corps de ballet, and she brought life to numerous productions, including iconic classics like Sleeping Beauty, the Nutcracker, Coppelia, and many others.
Danielle's impressive repertoire also includes significant performances in soloist roles in productions such as Swan Lake, Manon, Etudes, and more. Her creative spirit extends beyond the stage, as her choreography was featured in the season's opening gala of the Hungarian State Opera House and in the Hungarian National Ballet foundation's Young Choreographers Evening.
While in Budapest, Danielle ventured into the world of film, dancing in two feature films, "Red Sparrow" and "Colette." This ignited her interest in film and television, which she continues to pursue alongside her dance career.
After her time in Budapest, Danielle embarked on a new adventure by joining "The House of Dancing Water" in Macao, China, created by the renowned Cirque du Soleil choreographer Franco Dragone. This incredible show allowed her to further expand her skills, including aerial work, choreography within water, and complex staging with lift movements and static trapeze.
In 2023, Danielle took on the role of Dance Manager, Choreographer, and Performer for North Star Performing Art Management's Cultural exchange tour of China, working with 13 universities in 11 cities. She led a team of seven dancers through a demanding schedule, combining training, educational exchanges with universities, and performances. She remains as an Artistic Adviser, International Tutor, Art Tutor, International Supervisor, and Overseas Advisor at prestigious institutions in China, including Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology, Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences, Red Star Art Association of Wuhan University of Engineering and Science, Canvard College Beijing Technology and Business University, Yanching Institute of Technology, Kede College of Capital Normal University, and Harbin Guangsha College.
Alongside Danielle's career as a performer and guest artist, she shares her passion for dance through teaching, adjudicating, and choreography. She was recently commissioned to create a new work for Goh Ballet’s Youth Company for the prestigious opening of the newly designed Kengo Kuma high-rise building in Vancouver. She has served as a guest teacher and adjudicator at several prestigious schools and societies.
Outside of the world of dance, Danielle holds certifications in Yoga, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Barre Fitness, and Pilates Reformer. She is unwavering in her commitment to personal growth as an artist, continually exploring new dance styles and supporting skills, including aerial work, acting, and management studies. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Danielle finds joy in exploring the world with her partner, honing her Spanish language skills, and immersing herself in nature. An interesting fact about Danielle outside of dance is that she took one year off to drive all of South America from North to South and back with her partner, a once-in-a-lifetime journey that she feels not only enriched her as an artist but also as a person.
